Where to go (tourist attractions)

Chinchero:  This town is located at 30km from Cusco and seems to be caught in the past. They have huge terraces where crops were maintained for the royal family, buildings with the co-existence of Inca and colonial architecture and also they continue with traditions like the celebration of the Virgin of Nativity and the elaboration of colourful blankets that are sold in their local market.

Salt mines of Maras: In the outskirts of Cusco, 10 km from the town of Maras are these salt mines that have been exploited since Inca times. The salt is harvested by hand and is considered the finest of Peru.

Moray: 25 minutes from Maras town are the andenes of Moray that was considered an important centre of agricultural experimentation.  The Incas built them in order to create microclimates permitting the cultivation of huge variety of crops.

Pisac: To 30 km of the city of Cusco only are the archaeological site of Pisac that is characterized by its step terraces, aqueducts and stone stairways. This complex was the home of Inca Pachacutec`s family.

Machu Picchu: One of the seven wonders of the world for being Inca soothes of the culture. The tourists can contemplate the incredible architecture, the imposing Huayna Picchu and admire the wild flora and the diverse fauna of this zone.

Ollantaytambo: To 80km of ka city of Cusco is Ollantaytambo, the only Inca city in Peru that is still inhabited. The fine stone walls of the house have contributed to well conserve these archeological remains.
