By air
There are daily flights to the city of Cusco from Lima (approximately 1 hour). There are direct flights to the city of Cusco from Lima, Arequipa, Juliaca (Puno) and other cities in the country (via these cities).
By land
Different highways connect Cusco with other cities in the country.
- Lima-Arequipa-Cusco (1494 kilometers) an approximately 24-hour drive
- Lima - Arequipa: The paved South Pan American Highway runs along the coast
- Arequipa - Juliaca approximately 10 h
- Juliaca - Cusco approximately 12 h (highest point 4318 m.a.s.l. at La Raya)
By train
There is train service between Cusco and the cities of Puno and Arequipa.

Sacsayhuamán: On foot: 25 minutes By car: 10 minutes. Located two kilometers from Cusco, it is the fort that protected the imperial capital. Since the time of the Incas, the Sun Festival or "Inti Raymi" has been celebrated there.
Ollantaytambo: It is considered to be a “living Inca village” where time seems to have stood still; you can see the Inca terraces, food storage facilities and the Inca bridge.
Pisac: The entryway to the Urubamba valley, Pisac is a town where you can join in the local customs and enjoy the handicrafts at the traditional Sunday market.
Koricancha: Located across from the Hotel Libertador, it was the Inca’s main sanctuary where they adored the sun and worshipped the gods of the Tawantinsuyo.
Cusqueña Beer Festival (May): Music concerts with Peruvian and international groups.
Inti Raymi (June 24): The Inca Festival of the Sun.
Corpus Christi (July): Procession of the saints and virgins.
Virgen del Rosario (October 10): Bullfighting and preparation of “pachamanca”.
