I would like to relay my displeasure with the handling of my reservation at this hotel aka Westin. I reserved a room 4 months in advance of my stay yet at the last minute I was unilaterally changed to the Westin which was not as charming, not in a good location, full of business people, and NOT what I wanted or had reserved. When I attempted to stay at the Liberator upon my return to Lima - (late in the night) the hotel attempted to charge me the highest rate they could, was unapologetic about the change, and were completely rude. I will not be using the Westin in the future for any of my hotel any country.

We deeply apologize for not letting you know in advance we had to walk you to another hotel for that night in Lima. Like most hotels around the world, we run overbooking policies with the purpose of making more rooms available to more travelers at the time of booking. Sometimes (like this case) it runs beyond our figures and the criteria is to walk guests to a hotel of a higher category. We understand that regardless the category, the Westin Lima was not what you were expecting for your night in Lima, and we apologize for that. I mistakenly made an on line reservation for the 12th December 2013 thinking I was clicking on the January calendar, and now I do not know how to cancel it! I did receive an email from your Reception desk telling me the cancelation could only be done through the web site but I cannot find the place where to do it! I checked out of the Lima Hotel on 12/04/13. I was charged and signed for USD 614.28. My credit card was charged USD $653.74. I would appreciate your getting back to me and explaining the difference. Thank-you.

Dear Mr. Archer, Thank you very much for leaving a comment. What happens is, we always charge the guest's credit cards in local currency (Peruvian Nuevo Sol). The daily exchange rate is not always the same your bank uses when they process the charge, hence the difference. We have tried standardizing, but guests come from every corner of the world and there are a myriad of banks processing these charges.
