Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa – Wow!
As someone who is usually too frugal to pop for luxury accommodations, This place was a revelation. Pampered from the time they opened the taxi door on arrival, even the check-in process was welcoming and painless. The room was stunning. Ground floor with a terrace. We were there for only 2 nights, with the full day spent at Machu Picchu, so we unfortunately did not get to take advantage of some of the hotel features, like the pool and spa. Access to the train to MP from the on-site train station was great. The Bar serves the best pisco sour I’ve ever had. Yeah, it’s not cheap compared to other places in Peru, but compared to a similar property in the US, it’s 1/3 the price.
