The Cathedral was built in two stages. The Chappel of El Triunfo was built first and then the Cathedral, over the remains of Inca Wiracocha's Palace in a predominating renaissance style.

It was built in 1571, on the grounds of the ancient Amarucancha. The 1650 earthquake severely damaged the church and it had to be rebuilt with an Andean baroque style.

Koricancha or the God Sun Palace |

| |
According to chroniclers, this was one of the most impressive buildings in Cusco during Inca times. The interior had entire walls covered with golden plates. It is today the Convent and Temple of Santo Domingo. |

Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Complex |

Located 2 km northeast of the city of Cusco. The complex is composed of 33 archaeological sites, being the most renown, the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. The Incas celebrated there the Festivity of the Sun or "Inti Raymi".

Inca Trail to Machu Picchu |

It forms part of the Inca Road Network (Ccapac Ñam) that leads to Machu Picchu. It is one of the most important routes in Peru and along the way travellers can observe Inca remains as well as numerous ravines and water courses originating in not faraway glaciers. You can begin your trip to Machu Picchu from our Hotel.
Machu Picchu can also be reached by train.
